St. Thomas Energy Services Inc. Enters into Purchase Agreement with Tiltran Services and Lizco Sales, Tillsonburg

As President & C.E.O. of St. Thomas Energy Services Inc., I am very excited to announce that we have entered into a purchase agreement with Tiltran Services and Lizco Sales from the Tillsonburg area.

This offer is the first transaction of its size in Ontario involving a municipally-owned utility company purchasing a competitive, privately-owned services company. Aligned with the Board’s strategic plan set in 2006, the purchase of private sector companies is one of the few ways that, as an operator of a utility facing increasing regulatory requirements, we can grow and diversify our business, creating superior value to our Shareholder and the customers whom we serve.

Under the terms of the deal, the transaction will be completed on January 2, 2008. The management team and I are very excited about the potential this endeavour offers to benefit the residents of St. Thomas.

With the expertise of the excellent staff involved from all three companies, we will build and strengthen the value of the Corporation and together we look forward to optimizing our service provision through enhanced best-in-class business practices.
